Portraiture
An original portrait, whether of a person or a pet, is a wonderful way to capture for all time a special friend or moment in our lives. Working part-time at the Windham Animal Hospital brings Susan into contact with all kinds of dogs, cats, and other pets. Her vivid pet portraits have become very popular. "I strive to capture a subject's unique personality. I especially enjoy portraying the bond between people and animals. It's very rewarding to paint a portrait that pleases an owner (or parent!) and says something special about the subject."
To create her portraits, Susan works from photographs, which she prefers to take herself. This is especially helpful because it allows her to meet her subjects, but she can work from your photos as well. The more accurate the color and expressions in your photo, the more lifelike the portrait.
